One can't mention Washington without bringing up a mixture of the old and the new. From the historic town square that hasn't lost its character over the past century, to the new 5 Points Community Center , which offers a new library, performing arts center, sports center, aquatic center and banquet facilities. Washington is a community that is just that-a community. You''ll find good schools, quaint shops, nice neighborhoods and about a 10-15 minute commute to Peoria.
The north side of Washington, Il, has recently exploded with a number of new subdivisions as well as new additions to existing subdivisions that offer many options in every price range.
Northwyck, Bristol Park, Deer Ridge, Oak Creek and Hunters Glen are all situated congruent to each other on the north side of Route 24 off of Cummings Rd and/or Nofsinger. Two nice features with these subdivisions is their proximity to Route 24 and the Oakridge public park which is within walking distance from any of them. Located at the end of North Cummings, Oakridge Park is home to a youth soccer program, three ball fields, JFL field, restrooms, playground area and maintenance facility. Deer Ridge
Deer Ridge in Washington was pretty much the first subdivision in this northern part of town. Although mostly complete now, there are some nice variations of floor plans to fit most any buyer. Priced in the low to mid $200's, Deer Ridge is also adjacent to Oakridge Park. CLICK HERE TO SEARCH
Northwyck Subdivision
Northwyck Subdivision is a newer subdivision on the north side of Washington that offers ranch and two story designs. Prices range from the lower to mid $200's.
Directions: Route 24 to Cummings, North to Sante Fe, Right to Northwyck.
Bristol Park
Bristol Park has a number of nice ranches and two storys, lower 200's on up.There are different builders,thus different designs, and the subdivision is still growing. Once can purchase a lot and pick a builder or choose from many different spec homes that are available. The latest access to Nofsinger Rd allows for even quicker access to Route 24.

Hunters Glen
Here you'll find ranches, two storys and split foyers. Located north of bypass 24 and adjacent to the south side of Northwyck and the Bristol Park subdivisions. Homes range from the low $200's on up. Affordability meets new constructions. Like its predecessor, Northwyck Subdivision, Hunters Glen offers some very nice entry level new constructions at affordable prices.

Oak Creek
Oak Creek offers the largest homes in this area of developments. You'll find bigger homes, more use of brick, some wooded and some walkout lots. Like many of the developements there are new additional sections being opened up as sales continue to demand more growth. Homes typically start closer to the $300,000 range.

All of these subdivisions go to Central School District for elementary and middle school levels and Washington Community High School for the upper class level.
The next grouping of subdivisions lays to the west side of Washington a little closer to East Peoria. These two subdivisions are, for now at least, a litte more rural than the other newer subdivisions mentioned thus far.
Windsong Estates
Windsong Estates is a one builder development that offers a mixture of different ranch and two story plans, many with finished basements. Plans call for a neighborhood park or green space at some point. All of the homes offer nice curb appeal with a nice mixture of brick, while options on the interior, once very limited, have since become much more open. Cypress Ridge
Cypress Ridge is a nice mixture of mostly single family with some upper end duplex condos. Close proximity to golf course and ICC. Single family homes in the $300-$400 range. Some wooded lots. The next grouping of subdivisions is north of Business 24 and south of US 24, all obtainable off of Cummings Rd.
Mallard Crossing
Mallard Crossing is located at the west entrance to Trails Edge subdivision, these homes are typically starting above the $300K mark up to the upper $300K range. There are still new constructions and new roads being put in place. Ranch and two story homes are near the 3,000 square foot range. Trails Edge
Not to be confused with another Trails Edge subdivision in Dunlap, this Trails Edge development has been a very popular one for homes priced from the lower $200's to the mid/upper $300's. There are a number of different builders that have built a nice variation of ranch and two story plans. There is also a neighborhood park offering a nice green space and playground equipment. Devonshire
Devonshire is one of the largest subdivisions in Washington. This subdivision has older well established sections as well as new sections-with more land available to keep growing. Located south of US 24, home to single family residences in the upper $200 to $300 price ranges (newer sections). There are also some areas for green space set aside as well! Click here for a map!
The next grouping of homes are south of Business Route 24. A more established area of town than the other areas, there are new additions to most of these subdivisions.
Firethorn
Firethorn, like Devonshire, has established sections as well as new additions and land to keep growing. Located on the southern side of the city of Washington, the newer homes range mostly above $300K. Square footage range is in the upper 2,000 range. Located off of Kern Rd. Steeplechase
Steeplechase subdivision is host to some of the larger homes Washington has to offer. Situated on the south edge of the Washington area many of these homes measure well above the 3,000 square foot range and offer a more generous use of brick than the majority of the other subdivisions in town as well as larger lots. Just about completely developed, there aren't as many brand new construction options here but from time to time you're able to find a very nice newer resale. Stonegate
Stonegate was the precursor to Northwyck Subdivision. Planned with similar ranch and two story style homes, Stonegate initially offered probably the most affordable options for new constructions at the time in was developed around 2001. Although complete now, there are some very nice newer homes around the upper $100's and lower $200's. Stonegate is located south of Business 24, off of Cummings. Click here for a map!
