Charter Oak Village is both a clearly defined subdivision, as well as an undefined one, which is confusing but let us explain. This area is generally recognized as being on the northwest side of Peoria south of The Shoppes at Grand Prairie along both sides of Orange Prairie Road and north of Charter Oak Road. Other subdivisions like Oak Crest, Huntington, Autumn Ridge also get grouped into this area-thus the sometimes undefined boundaries. For the most part however, all of these subdivisions are just west of Route 6/474 and in between War Memorial Drive and Charter Oak Road, with the exception of Huntington Subdivision, which is just south of Charter Oak Road. These are nice homes that are all close to Mark Bills elementary school, Charter Oak middle school, and Richwoods High School of District 150. There are also quite a few parks in this area which has always been a popular feature. The homes can be a mix of two story and ranch style homes, while there are also a few split foyers and quad-levels thrown in the mix. Close to The Shoppes at Grand Prairie Mall, Ravina on the Lakes, (a private banquet facility) Sommer Park, and Charter Oak Park.
