Peoria, IL 61615
Churchill Park is a large subdivision that was developed by a single builder. It was one of the first "new" subdivisions in the Dunlap school district when the city of Peoria expanded northward in what is known as "Growth Cell #1" in the late 1990's. The other subdivisions that were part of this growth were Chapel Park (located to the north and adjacent to Churchill Park), Dover Pointe, Northrail Meadows, and Trails Edge. As this subdivision developed, the last phases that were added included some more custom features, designs, and were larger. Wilhelm Road to the north is the dividing line between Peoria mailing addresses and Dunlap mailing addresses. As such Churchill Park has a Peoria address, is in the Dunlap school district, and is in the city of Peoria. It is located just north of Alta Road, between Allen Road and Knoxville Avenue. There are some popular child care facilities adjacent to the subdivision as well. There is easy access to Knoxville Avenue and Route 6, so getting to downtown Peoria takes about 20 minutes, and Caterpillar's Mossville facility is about 10 minutes away. The Rock Island Trail is a popular biking and jogging path that is within walking distance or-if you are like me-you can drive in your car to your favorite workout facility and go from there. :) There are also some nice hiking paths off of nearby Mossville Road. There are quite a few grocery stores within a 2 mile radius-Krogers, Aldi's, and Super Wal-Mart to name a few.
