Nettle Creek Subdivision is located within the township of Dunlap and is a very nice upper end subdivsion with large lots and plenty of space between neighbors. Every lot is wooded and many homes have walk-out basements. Another benefit of being in a subdivision like Nettle Creek is that it's within the actual town of Dunlap. Instead of having a Dunlap address, and being in the city of Peoria, the town of Dunlap has slightly lower property taxes by comparison. However, if you are familiar with property taxes anywhere in the state of Illinois, then you know "lower" in terms of property taxes are relative. :)
Nettle Creek really is a beautiful place to call home. It has a very nice entrance off of Dickison Cemetary Road and actually has a few outlots that are within the subdivision of Nettle Creek, yet located outside of the main entrance along Dickison Cemetary Road. The subdivision is about a mile from Dunlap Valley Middle School which puts it about 1.5 mile from the town of Dunlap. The developers of Nettle Creek are also the same developers of the newer Waterstone Subdivision, and as such, both neighborhoods have a similar feel. Nettle Creek is about 20-25 minutes to downtown Peoria and about 10 minutes to the Shoppes at Grand Priarie. It is a completed subdivision with no further phases being added. The closest subdivision to Nettle Creek is Deerfield, which is located to the north on the other side of Dickison Cemetary Road. There is actually a creek that runs along the north side of the subdivision, thus giving the neighborhood its name.
